gtaylor Posted June 13, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 13, 2007 There was a full page article in The Daily Herald's Weekender (supplement to the local newspaper) last March 24th about Arnia's Bookstore -- they sell flags. Don’t let the name mislead you. Arnia’s Bookstore, nestled at the junction of Bush and Zagersgut Roads, is not only for reading enthusiasts and students in search of a good reading experience. Opened about half decade ago, Arnia’s has blossomed from offering an array of books in about nine different languages, to catering to the vast cultural diversity of St. Maarten by bringing pride a bit closer to the nationalities represented on the island. Some 102 nationalities (January 2007 Census Office figures) call St. Maarten home, but at Arnia’s, people can purchase flags from 117 countries and an array of more than 50 flag souvenirs. In addition to different sizes of flags, Arnia’s also offers T-shirts, cups, key chains, beach towels, wheel covers, umbrellas, scarves, wallets, belts and a list of other items bearing the flags of the various countries. AVAILABLE at Arnia’s are 4x6 inches and 6x8 inches table flags; 12 x18 inches hand flags; 2x3 feet house flags and 3x5 feet and 6x8 feet pole flags. Flags can be ordered via email: sxmflagsouvniers@yahoo.com. gary
gtaylor Posted June 13, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 13, 2007 So I see that you will be visiting. Care to pick it up yourself? I would certainly make advance arrangements. Here's a Google Earth shot of the area. The driving distance from the Downtown Philipsburg marker to the Bookstore is just about 1.5 miles. gary USS Recruit (TDE-1), 1966
