My best advice to you is priceline your hotel for NYC. I go there very frequently and that is the only way I get my hotels. I just came back yesterday from NY and I got my hotel through priceline. I stayed at the Roosevelt for $185.00/night and the original price was about $270/night. It was a GREAT hotel and a nice big comfy room with two beds in it and a good bathroom with a tub. I was very happy with the hotel and the price I paid.

We're speaking NYC here so you're definition of a good deal and my definition might be two totally different ideas.

 

Anyways, tourism is booming in the city right now and with that hotels are experienceing a boom time and that means high room rates (that whole supply/demand equation thing).

 

Budget for $250 a night and you won't be disappointed.
