UpstateCruizer Posted June 15, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2007 We are about to book an August cruise on the Triumph and our choices for cabins are midship on the Riviera deck or we can pay an extra $300 and be on the Empress deck. We just had a balcony last week on the same ship but we really don't have a preference this time. Our ONLY deciding factor is if you can feel the motion of the ship more by being on a lower deck. The agent I'm supposed to call back in a few minutes said there wasn't much difference as long as we stayed midship. So I figured you guys were the best resource for experienced replies :) Thanks! WorldCruzer Posted June 15, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 15, 2007 Personally, I hate the first floor but since your only deciding factor is the movement: You will feel LESS on a lower floor. Mid-ship is ALSO better.

Mid-ship is ALSO better. Thanks ....movement was the deciding factor for us. I just didn't want to start a thread where debating an ocean view vs a balcony. Can I ask why you did not like the first floor? I was told the crews quarters are right below us so I figured it can't be too noisey? I love climbing the stairs and don't mind the hike from floor to floor.
CruisinMenika Posted June 15, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 15, 2007 I would have no problem booking on Riviera deck. Have stayed there on Victory and had no problem. You should be fine, as long as you are midship.
Travelitis Posted June 15, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 15, 2007 Since you've gotten a good resonse, would you be willing to answer some questions for me about the Truimph? As you can see, we're fence sitting between 2 ships for Oct. We know the CP has more activities that we enjoy, but there are some other factors that make the Triumph more attractive. 1. What night time entertainment was there other than the Vegas reviews, casino, dancing, and adult late night comedy? (I'm checking to make sure there's a PG comedy show and other shows besides the feather and thong parades.) 2. Were there any dance classes for ballroom or swing? 3. What was your favorite thing about the Triumph? 4. What would you like to see changed? 5. What show or entertainer is a must see? Thanks!
cruisetmc Posted August 18, 2007 #6 Share Posted August 18, 2007 We have been on the Riveria Deck on both the Victory and Liberty. Not a lot of movement and actually very quiet. It was really nice on the Victory since the debarkation stations were right down the hall from us.
