photog4fun Posted August 14, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2004 I've always wanted to scuba dive in Grand Cayman because I've seen fabulous pictures of the coral and fish at it. But I also want to visit the sting rays the same day. If I choose the sting ray/snorkle excursion, would I be missing out on incredible underwater sea life not seen with snorkling? Isn't there a tour company that does both? Please help me to decide which I should do, scuba vs. sting ray/snorkle? Thanks, Suzanne
florida diver Posted August 17, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2004 Why choose?? There are a number of dive shops in Grand Cayman that do a deep dive and then Sting Ray City as the shallow dive. Remember Sting Ray City was originally only a dive (12ft). The sandbar location came later when snorkel operaters found they could also get the Rays to come to them in shallow water. I have done the dive twice (and the snorkel with the wife once) and it is a much better experience then the snorkel!!!!
