Walking to the beach area

I have been reading the info on GC for so long my eyes hurt :) Some people have said that they just walk to the beach by turning left at the tender port. Others have said it is not easy to walk to the beach area and you must take a taxi or bus.

If the way is safe (sidewalks or area to walk out of the roadway!!), I would rather just walk to the beach and stop in shops along the way. I don't really care if it takes us 30 minutes to walk to a nice beach area, I would rather experience some of the island. We don't need chairs or umbrellas as we would rather meander around in GC. We have a beach club planned for Coz the next day so sitting on the beach in GC all day is not needed.

Please tell me if it is fairly easy to walk to the beach area and let me know if there are sidewalks or other arrangements for pedestrians.

Thank you!!

Sorry to pass on bad news but walking to the beach isn't practical. Plenty of people try it and just turn back.

George Town is a mess at present, the sidewalks are just really to get you round the shops.

If you head out of the terminals (there are three possible drop off points for the tenders) and head left you will find a beach, eventually!

The taxis are cheap and plentiful, they will take you up Seven-Mile-Beach where you have a beach but no shops.
