w99flash Posted June 21, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 21, 2007 Anyone know about this ship tour?? Where is the beach club? What is it like?? Description states "unlimited food and drink" and that you can "come and go as much as you please, to explore the shopping mall etc." Is it near the cruise terminal? Is it worth the $$? Thanks for any info.
klmorg Posted June 21, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 21, 2007 We did this excursion in early May, and it was the only one we booked thru Carnival (highly recomended for Jamaica!). We LOVED it! Our hostess with the mostest, LaToya, met us at the pier and escorted us to the Bamboo Beach Club, which is really closeby. You can see the ship from the BBC. When it was time for Dunns River Falls, she gathered her group up, took us to our van, and off we went to the Falls. That was a blast! Afterwards, she met us at the top of the Falls and escorted us thru the high pressure shopping area. We were so thankful for that because from what I heard and saw, these vendors will nearly accost you. :) Back to the BBC, Latoya brought us all we could drink all day long... Mojitos (yummy), Rum Punch, Beer, Lemonade. She also brought platters of food... chicken, fruits, dessert bread, potatoes (from what I can remember). They also had lots of entertainment on the beach... dancing, limboo, etc. There was a shopping center (can't remember the name) and a couple other little shops within walking distance. Some of the locals and taxi drivers were hanging out along the way, but we walked pretty fast and avoided eye contact and had no problems; just an uncomfortable feeling for some of us "sheltered" Americans! We had a great time, and crawled back to the ship! We foudn it to be worth the money in many ways... including safety!

That included the entry fee & stuff at Dunns River Falls, transportation, and all the food and drink you wanted at the BBC. There were no water sports there in that area (that I saw anyway). The beach isn't that great... but we had a blast.

We also will be on the Carnival Liberty 1/13/08with 2 20 something sons who can easily drink (and eat), their money's worth. Oh absolutely! We're going back on the 12/16/07 Carnival Liberty, and taking the same excursion since our 2 kids, ages 21 and 23, will be with us this time. That place will lose money on us, huh?! If you're not doing the Falls, you might consider that... the Dunn's River Falls & Bamboo Beach Club combo. The Falls are incredible! Your sons might also be quite entertained at the BBC with those beautiful Jamaican ladies that serve as the hostesses. Besides their wonderful service, they were fun to watch dance & stuff. Like I said earlier & you'll probably read from others that this is not a big, beautiful beach, but we had fun and it was close enough to the ship to crawl back!
