travel-to-go Posted June 22, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 22, 2007 According to Commodore Warwick's QE2 book, By time of launch they had used 17,500 tons of steel from colvilles of glasgow, worth more than 1M pounds (at that time) there is more, but it is in value not pounds. at least in that chapter. I may look further later. Karie, At work, so cant spend too much time looking!

bob brown Posted June 23, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 23, 2007 If you would take a look at what items are projected to sell for next week at Christie's ocean liner auction in NY...... could you imagine what authentic QE2 items would go for? Every screw, bolt, and nut if authenticated by some certificate, if added up would probably yield enough to build a new ship!:D
