Bottlenosedolphin Posted June 21, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 21, 2007 Can anyone recommend a good whale watching company to use in the Icy Strait? I would prefer not to book with the cruise line as I would like a more personalized experience. Is the Icy Strait a good place to view whales or should I stick with Juneau? There are so many great excursions in Juneau that I would like to keep that day open for other experiences. Thoughts or recommendations?

springtxbill Posted June 21, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 21, 2007 The best whale watching we have done in two trips to Alaska was from our balcony while anched at ICP. A group of whales were bubble feeding all afternoon about 1/2 mile from the ship. Check with Keith at Tek Outfitters at teckk@hoonah.net. We went halibut fishing thru him last year, but I believe he also does whale watching or can tell you who would be best.:)
