diveoz Posted June 24, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2007 Hopefullly this will help some of you non-scuba snorkelers. There are two methods. the first is the one most people use - the blast method. it works, but there is a better way. When you are heading to the surface tip your head back so you are looking into the sky. blow a little air into your snorkel. as you continue to ascend the air will expand, filling your snorkel. You are now using atmosoheric physics instead of brute force to clear it. When you surface give it a little blow of air... no blast necessary... as you tip your head forward from looking up to back down in the water. after a couple trys you should have it down! Added benefit: you will never surface under something that you don't want to because you are looking where you should be - up! have fun Jim
