pazooter Posted April 29, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2004 We will be cruising to Alaska in June. We're looking for the best way to get back to the airport after the cruise to pick up a rental car. It will be the 4th of July when we return. I don't know if there are any car rentals at the waterfront and don't expect any open on Sunday, July 4. Do any car rental companies send shuttles to the waterfront? cjh Posted April 29, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2004 There is nothing absolutely nothing at the port but a parking lot. There are cabs but that's about it. Star Princess 7/03(Alaska)

c-cruise Posted May 2, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 2, 2004 Most of the major rental car companies have a pick-up location in downtown Seattle. Thrifty is right on the waterfront at Pier 48 I believe. National/Alamo pickup is at the Hilton Hotel on 6th Ave. NCL docks at Pier 66 so it would be a bit of a walk to these locations with luggage. However, cabs are plentiful on the mornings cruise ships are in town so it should be easy to hop a cab to the rental car pickup location. You could also try to arrange a shuttle to pick you up, but that may be more trouble than its worth with not knowing exactly what time you will disembark. I would just start calling rental car companies and asking them where they have rental car pickup in downtown, if it is open on the 4th, and if they have shuttle service. Have a greate cruise! Sleddogs Posted May 8, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 8, 2004 Cathy, there were shuttles available from the cruise terminal to the airport back in 2001. We ended up buying the transfer back to the airport on our NCL Sky cruise before the end of the trip. We were brought straight back to the airport without a problem (if I remember right we were on a bus). I think it was $20 per person at that time. Hope this helps. Happy cruising! mbisson Posted May 8, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 8, 2004 Hey Cathy, I flew into Seattle a couple weeks ago and saw one of the GreyLine stops (outside, at the end of baggage claim), had a sign saying it stopped at cruise terminal. I'm sure you'll have no trouble. -Monte some of my cruising photos: http://community.webshots.com/user/m1bisson A bad day cruising is better than a good day at work. The worst cruise I ever took was pretty damned good.
