CruiseQueen13 Posted June 25, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 25, 2007 St. maarten - anywhere. St. Thomas - we like Coki Beach for snorkeling. Never been to Grand turk. Note - St. Thomas - we did a snuba tour all I can say - WOW amazing. What an experience. We love to snorkel but, really had a blast w/ snuba. We used Frank and booked on our own. Stevesan Posted June 25, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 25, 2007 Leaving on Crown P tomorrow. Where can I snorkel in St Thomas, St Maartin or Grand Turks when I get there? I want to do this on my own. Yes, I'm gonna rent the equipment. Thanx St Thomas: very easy. There's good snorkeling from Coki Beach: http://www.cokidive.com/ For smaller crowds and better snorkeling, take a ferry to St John and snorkel either from Trunk Bay or Cinnamon Beach. Click on "Transportation" For ferry and taxi schedules. http://st-thomas.com/ This web site has extensive info about USVI, lots of good stuff on beaches and snorkeling: The complete URL will not copy. Just bracket vinow with www and com St Maarten: Fuhgedaboudit. Although the beaches are nice, the snorkeling is lousy. Shopping is good there. Maybe take an island tour or rent a car and chill out on a beach. Grand Turk: I dunno. Never been there. Have you tried the Ports Of Call Boards? The scuba and Snorkel board has lots of good info about the islands. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=
Rare YoPhilly Posted June 27, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 27, 2007 We took a cab to the Divi resort on St. Maarten. Took off snorkeling from the beach and headed to the rocky shoreline on the left. GREAT snorkeling site! Fairly healthy reef, lots of fish, starfish, plus one big, superfast black/brown fish.
waterlily22 Posted June 27, 2007 #6 Share Posted June 27, 2007 I realize you're already on your cruise, however if you read these boards before you get to St. Thomas: here's another vote for Coki Beach in St. Thomas and also Trunk Bay on St. John. Both of these are great snorkeling spots. Have a wonderful cruise!
