Why 4 beds for 2 people?

Just checked and my husband and I are in 2232 on the Main Deck. An inside 4B with 2 uppers! Why in the world would Carnival put us in that room? We booked a 4A guarantee, so I know we don't have a choise. If that's what we get fine, but I think it's kinda weird. Hopefully there will be a family that needs the room and we will get bumped up to something higher the closer it gets to sail (September 9th, Conquest).

Has this happened to anyone else? And if you and someone else were in a room with 2 uppers for just the two of you, how did that work out? Are they bigger rooms than normal?

It is really not a big deal. The uppers are folded against the wall and you probably won't really notice them, and I believe on some ships they can take them off of the wall and then nothing would be there but the bars that hold them in place. The rooms are not bigger, however, you did get bumbed up to the main deck from booking a 4A guarentee...that is a definate positive. Enjoy your cruise and don't worry about the 2 extra beds...really no big deal.

The beds fold up so you hardly know they are there. My family and my parents both had quad rooms on our last cruise. It worked out great for us, because my kids got to spend the night with them one night!

Thats the chance you take when you book Guarantee. You never know what you'll get. No big deal as Lisa mentioned, the 'extra' beds will be 'folded up' out of the way.

Re: you hopes that a family would book and get that room, dont hold your breath, as sail date gets closer adn they are trying to fill the cabins, they may only have 'doubles' available. This is due to the # of 'souls' allowed onboard by coastgaurd regualtions.

Enjoy your cruise! Dont fret about extra beds.
