Panorama Pictures Taken on Serenade of the Seas Alaska Cruise

We just returned from the August 8th sailing of the Serenade of the Seas to Alaska.

I've posted up a series of panoramic pictures taken on this cruise at:

Prior to the cruise, we spent a few days in the Banff & Lake Louise area of the Canadian Rockies in Alberta. We took a Hummer tour of the nearby mountians.

Panoramic Pictures from the Canadian Rockies can be found at:

Enjoy.

I have almost the same pictures LOL

Talk about coincidence . We have some of Grizzlies Bears and them eating Salmon and pics of Eagles swooping Salmon from the water.

I am trying to post them at a site like you have just done(Ican't figure how to even put one on the boards here ..let alone a web site like you have done)

Where were you on the ship? I sailed with you . No M&M for us that cruise.

Cmason, I used three digital cameras throughout this cruise:

Panasonic DMC-FZ10, 4 MP with 12X optical telephoto stabilized Leica lens.

Pentax Optio 555, 5 MP with 5X optical telephoto.

Pentax S4i, 4 MP, pocket camera.

All the panoramic images were taken handheld, overlapped manually, and stitched together using software called Panorama Factory. I've used it for years and it is not difficult at all to get good results.

I also do some touch-up of lighting and coloration using Adobe Photoshop.

Incidentally, I did all this organizing and editing on sea days and on the airplane coming home. I took something approaching 1000 pictures. It's what I like to do.

Folgy, we went on the Juneau whale watching cruise. It must have been a bad day. We saw seals laying on a beach, but we could have seen more laying on the docks at Pier 39 in San Francisco.

We sailed along and everyone ran to one side of the boat when they announced a whale, and by the time they got there, nothing could be seen. Then they yelled to go to the other side, and nothing was there.

Oh, we saw some activity that "could" have been a whale or two, but I concluded it would have been more rewarding an a lot less expensive to go visit whales at Sea World in San Diego.

It certainly wasn't very exciting, at least to me.
