Tulum and beach/snorkel too?

My husband and I are first time cruisers -first time to Cozumel too...and are trying to decide which excursions to take - we are on Rhapsody in late September. I would like to see Tulum and he would like some beach time..I see one of the excursions listed on the Royal Carribean site is a Tulum/Xel-Ha combination. Has anyone done that? or is it possible to see Tulum and still do Paradise beach? Looks like we have about 9 hours in Cozumel...

any info would be much appreciated!
