LadyLeo84 Posted June 26, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2007 Is there a good place to snorkel around Cocoa Beach where the water is shallow (not over 6-7 feet) where you can rent snorkel equipment and see plenty of sea life?

No - Cocoa area is all a sand beach area .... no coral. Some surf here tho .... Visit Ron Jon's ...... hit the pier ..... maybe head down to Bunky's .... LadyLeo84 Posted June 27, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted June 27, 2007 Thanks for the info Capt BJ - I really appreciate it a lot. We had already thought about going to the pier and to Ron Jon's, so I guess that's what we will do. Also, I don't think that I've read anything about Bunky's. What type of place is it and where's it located?

It really its sad that we don't have snorkeling around this area although we do have a real nice Dive shop in Cape Canaveral. Bunky's is located on Hwy 520 heading toward Merritt Island. I haven't been there since it switched names and been renovated, but I understand it's a local's hangout and nice. Whereever you stay, ask the front desk if they will give you a 15% coupon to go to Ron Jon's - it can be a nice savings and as for the Cocoa Beach Pier, now that is the place to be - right over the ocean with a Bahama Mama drink. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Always Shirley
