Pcann: Just got back today from AK. Agree with all of the above. I would not have been able to see the seals on the ice floats without them! Also fun to watch the eagles with. But best of all, on the way back, we saw 2 bears playing in a small pond & climbing on a log. Without them, we would never had been able to see them. Have fun. BTW--we went up to Emerald Lake and because of the smoke, the visibility was really cut down. You may want to reconsider and do something else on that day. Just a thought. In addition, there was another fire in Skagway and when we got back from Emerald Lake, the power was out in all the stores. We were told (didn't verify) that the port was closed after that!! Maybe the smoke won't be bad when you get there. Have fun! Bring a wind breaker for sure. Also, some summer tops and short!!! My husband didn't bring any and when I packed 2 pair he wanted to know what I was going to do with them. I wore them allot!!
