Rail and Kayaking in Skagway thru HAL

Has anyone done this tour? The first half is on the White Pass rail, and then kayaking for the last part. It sounds great to me, but I can't seem to find anyone who has done it; or has done any other kayaking in Skagway. Thanks for any thoughts!

Not sure where they would have you kayaking but Princess offered one coupled with the rail and I read nothing but terrible things about it. Not the rail (good reviews on that) but the kayaking. I don't get the impression kayaking is what you want to do in Skagway. Take the train, rent a car and drive to Emerald Lake, go flightseeing, go fishing, walk around town, take on the hiking trails, etc.
