I am not sure whether insurance is needed. Two people in a cabin on RCCL.

One of the two can not go. The other person is still going.

Can you change the name of the person going in the same cabin with or without penalty - would you need insurance to do this or do they cover this?

This is what I THINK based on info found here.

Up to just a few days prior to sailing people can be subbed for those that can not go. This is internal with the cruiseline so insurance is not necessary for that.

I would suggest you call the cruisline and double check this.

You can change a second name on a reservation, but that really isn't what insurance is about. I think it is more for medical emergency's before and during sailing..missed flights etc. You can do a search on the boards to read the many horror story's of people that did not take insurance. I would highly recommend insurance.

Yes you can name change, within a certain time limit, a small admin fee is required. If only 1 person travels RCCL will want the full initial booking cost.
