SeaTrek Kayak Adventure Question??

I am interested in the Kayak SeaTrek Adventure offered in Cococay. However, I was wondering if you can just "do your own thing" after the kayak orientation? Or do you have to stay with the guided tour?

You have to stay with the guide. There are actually two guides. One goes in front and the other follows behind the slowest person.

 

We just did it last week. It was okay. We didn't get to see any ocean life of any kind. The guide said that usually there are some stingrays on the sand bar, but there weren't any when we were there. It took about an hour to complete. It was good exercise and just nice to do the activity in general. There isn't too much to complain about when you're in the beautiful water beside a gorgeous island........

Thanks for the info - a friend and I were hoping to go exploring a little bit - but it still sounds nice.
