Road Conditions for Galveston

How have the recent rains affected driving to and from Galveston? We are headed there this weekend

I'm not sure where you are driving in from but I can assure you that from Houston to Galveston, there are no closures (except a small detour at NASA 1 for a couple of hours on Saturday).

 

I know the greater Austin area had some flash flooding this week.

I live in the Dallas area . . . not sure where you are traveling from but construction is probably your worst problem with I-45 around Houston. I checked the TX-DOT website and that's all they have posted right now. There is an 800 number you can call too that will be updated with any closure/flooding info but none showing now.

Just went to Galveston and back today....no prob from Houston on I-45 other than the 5pm traffic!And if taking 87(Ferry) from Winnie..no probs that way either.
