Glacier Gardens

We will be in Juneau in September. I would like to do the Mendenhall Glacier and Gardens tour through RCCL. Does anyone know what kind of flowers wll be in bloom then? Or is it too late in the season to make the gardens worthwhile? Would we be better off to skip the gardens and just get the local shuttle to the glacier and do it on our own? Don't want to spend the time in the gardens if very little is in bloom. Thanks for any help or ideas.
