Majesty Oceanviews - Best location?

I did a search and couldn't find this question answered. I'm looking at the Majesty for February, for just two people. I see there are oceanviews all the way forward on deck 6. We loved the view from this position on the Sun. We have been in an oceanview on deck 7, and we had an AB on deck 9. We don't need the 'Suite' with just two people. I wondered if anyone has feedback about where you've had oceanview cabins, and if you liked them. I really like the location of those forward cabins on deck 6 unless I get some different input. :)

We really liked the category DD on deck 4 of the Majesty. These are mid-ship. They do have great ocean views and do not have any obstruction. Deck 4 is also one deck below the restaurants and many of the show rooms.

I was thinking deck 6 might be ideal for us since my husband lives in the casino. I'll look at deck 4 also. It would be handy just one deck down from five. :)

We were midship on Deck 6 (Cat C) and it was convenient to just about everything. We're booking the same location, opposite side, for our February cruise.

Be sure that the forward Cat Cs on Deck 6 don't request that you close your curtains at night because of the bridge above/night vision issue ...

The DD's are also 145 sq. feet and have a refridgerator in the cabin. I think that this is the same for the cabins on deck 6. You probably checked this out already.

We do not spend too much time in the casino. We do try to go at least once or twice on every cruise to make our deposit! We also really do not like too much smoke. We found that the area near the casino was pretty smokey on the 2 times that we were on the Majesty. Not a big deal, but my wife and I noticed this.

Hi cp556,

Please explain further..."Be sure that the forward Cat Cs on Deck 6 don't request that you close your curtains at night because of the bridge above/night vision issue ..."

I was on Deck 3 in June & have just booked Deck 6 for July. Thanks!

I'm one of those evil former-smokers who just doesn't like to be around it any more. The casino on Majesty is smoky in places (what casino isn't), but the areas near the entry on the port side have a somewhat good air flow going past.

When in Feb are you looking? We're on Feb 2 and I started a Roll Call which has had no response ... lol .......

I'm assuming it's the same issue we had on the Sun in a forward suite. The light from your cabin at night interferes with the Bridge so you have to keep your curtains closed when the sun goes down. :)

LOL, been there before. The winter roll calls sometimes take awhile to get going. If we stick with the Jan. 12 Sun cruise (it's still up in the air) then we'll probably cruise on the Majesty toward the end of February. I don't want them too close together. Last winter we cruised Dec. 16, then Jan. 20 and it was too close. :)

I WAS a little cryptic, wasn't I?? Sorry...didn't mean to be.

The navigation bridge on Majesty is on Deck 8. I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that the forward Cat Cs on Deck 6 (#s 601-606) are asked to keep their curtains closed at night so that the cabin light does not exit the front windows and impair the night vision of the officers on the bridge.

Thanks very much! We are in a forward cabin on Deck 6 to be close to the Casino & Dining Rooms 1 deck below but luckily we're not that far forward...Not that we're in the room much anyways. But when we are it's curtains open!!
