OKC Cruisers Posted July 3, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2007 Don't worry, you're not the first person to ask these questions. In Cruise Critic shorthand: DW= Dear Wife / DH= Dear Husband / DD= Dear Daughter / DS=Dear Son, etc. A towel animal is a towel (or in some cases towels) which are shaped by your cabin attendant to look like some animal. You'll usually find these on your bed after turn down service. Hope this helped! :D Pete
IslandDreamers Posted July 5, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 5, 2007 right, what the heck is a dh, dd, ds, dw?what in the name of royal carribbean is a towel animal? i'm not stupid, just confused:confused: help. Don't worry, I had to figure it out the hard way too!! DH-Dear Husband DW-Dear Wife DS-Dear Son DD-Dear Daughter SIL-Son In Law DIL-Daughter In Law .....I could go on but I think you get my drift! Royal Caribbean room attendants make animals out of your towels. It's sooo cool! Kinda like balloon animals, without the balloons!

cram33 Posted August 21, 2007 #12 Share Posted August 21, 2007 What is a hump? I read a whole thread on it and didn't know what they were talking about except the jokes from the innuendo.
BigDawgRonAZ Posted August 24, 2007 #13 Share Posted August 24, 2007 OMG, my BBF is going to cruise with us in a hump cabin. ROTFL!!!!! OMG = Oh my God BBF = Best Friend Forever ROTFL = Rolling on the floor laughing My kids text all the time and I try to pick up a few words now an then!! As for the hump, its the area of the ship (near the center) that bows out. Folks who end up in hump cabins generally have more balcony space since the balcony bows instead of being straight. If you were to look down the entire length of the ship, the hump would probably block your view since it sticks out a few feet. I hope that helps! ezkahuna Posted September 9, 2011 #14 Share Posted September 9, 2011 My sister got an email from a friend and it said that her friends dad was very sick. My sister sent back - I'm so sorry to hear that. LOL. She thought it meant "Lot's of Love". She also thought ***** meant "Why the Face?". Obvioulsy she doesn't text much. I'm glad I found out about the DH, DW, etc. I thought it was my Dumb Husband and Da Wife. What I don't get is when someone writes page's of cruise review and throws in a DH twice - like that was too long to actually spell out! Hahahah! :-) Shows that I'm a newby and going on my first cruise in June 2012.

I hope that helps! we try to get center of the hump, which is why we tend to book early.. Fabulous views as it extends and you can see great all the way down forward and aft!!!! Love the location. Wish all ships had the "bumpout/hump" balconies. This is MHO (My humble opinion) ;)
cb at sea Posted September 11, 2011 #16 Share Posted September 11, 2011 Be aware that not ALL hump cabins give extra space! On many ships, the hump is simply a convenient location...no added space to the balcony or cabin is provided!
Who knew? Posted September 11, 2011 #17 Share Posted September 11, 2011 thanks guys!!!now i dont look like a loon when i'm reading messages! haha. One of my favorites is YMMV -- "Your mileage may vary." Meaning (approximately) -- your experience may differ from what I just said.:p The reference still may not make sense to everyone -- it's taken from the language used with miles-per-gallon gasoline estimates for autos in the US. Don't know if the automakers use the same slogan outside of the US and Canada. Linda:)
