Brooklyn Pier

It is my understanding that the parking lot is only open the days ships are in port. It is locked otherwise.Google Red Hook terminal for information or a phone number, but this is my understanding, otherwise it would be used by non passengers all the time and passengers would have no place to park!

http://www.nycruiseterminal.com/parkBKN.html under brooklyn terminal parking it has an email address....I am 99% sure its closed when ships aren't there since it is so close to the terminal they need to inspect the cars and the bomb sniffing dogs are only there when the ships are loading and unloading(you can get your car out off times with the guard- they don't worry about cars leaving)
Thanks for your responses. I will definitely check. My travel agent said it was opened to public. Always best to go direct to source... :)
which goes to prove most(not all) agents will do anything for a sale(or is that sail)...and just like customer service employees of the cruise line they are wrong many times. None of the NY cruise ship parking lots are open when there is no ship in port for parking.
