wasiii Posted July 4, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 4, 2007 Hello All, I was on the Victory last year (port side) and when we got to Halifax, we had a bagpipe welcome on our side of the ship. We are cruising to the Eastern Caribbean (San Juan, St. Thomas, Tortola) this year. Any suggestions as to which is the better side of the ship to be on? Are there any special things that happen on either side of the ship? Inquiring cruisers want to know. TIA wasiii
serene56 Posted July 4, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 4, 2007 Dont book your cabin based on seeing the port when you dock. Captain determines which way you dock depending on when you arrive- how many ships are in port and when you are leaving. Sometimes you will pull in- other times you will back in. Your view may be the island-- or it may be another ship that is next to you.
TicTac#2 Posted July 5, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 5, 2007 I agree...makes no difference on Carib cruises if you are starboard or Port. More important is where on the ship, what is above, below or next to your rooom.
