jrkfrk Posted July 7, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2007 We are planning our first cruise to Bermuda (on the Journey) in September. Having been on many cruises, we know that we do not tend to get sea sick, but understand that the water between N.J. and Bermuda can be rough. We want to schedule a dinner in one of the speciality restaurants for the first night, but would like to make our reservation early enough to eat before we hit the gulf stream (flying plates are not fun). Any advice as to our "window of opportunity"? Thanks! Fran (and Jeff)
bdaguy Posted July 8, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 8, 2007 better off askin mother nature that one! many trips across the gulf stream are calm, some can be bumpy. just depends on the weather at that particular moment. theres no guaranteed "calm" time of year, but summer is definitely calmer than winter. ive heard people off the same ship give wildly different descriptions of the crossing, hard to believe they were on the same ship! just keep your fingers crossed! iheartbda Posted July 8, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 8, 2007 We've been to Bermuda the last 6 years in Oct. and never had it rough during dinner the first night out. May have gotten a little bumpy later, but much later than what would be considered dinner time.
