Maraprince Posted July 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2007 What kind of temperatures can we expect in late October/early November? We will be in Quebec, Halifax, PEI. Thanks. MARAPRINCE
Rare Keith1010 Posted July 8, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 8, 2007 You should expect farily cool weather. I would look up the average temperatures for these areas on the following web site as this site provides historical averages. http://www.wunderground.com Keith
Ephraim Posted July 8, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 8, 2007 Depending on the year, late October will be cool to cold. Colder in Quebec than in the coastal provinces. Quebec usually has one snowfall in October that doesn't stay on the ground. In recent years, the snow hasn't stayed on the ground until mid December, but that has been unusual. Usually in November we can expect it to be cold enough to have snow on the ground. That being said, it's a lovely time of year as the trees lose their leaves and people start to prepare for Christmas. Canadians start to prepare for Christmas right after Halloween. Our Thanksgiving is in early October, so there are no holidays between Halloween and Christmas. Bring a winter jacket.

Or can we get by with a heavy shoe boot? MARAPRINCE
sapper1 Posted July 9, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 9, 2007 A heavy shoe boot will be just fine. If it does snow at that time (and it can) there won't be much accumulation and it tends to melt off the roads and sidewalks within hours of falling. You won't need a boot for warmth--that comes in late Nov and into Dec. Being on the coast, SJ and Halifax tend to get rain when the inland areas receive an early season snowfall. At the end October you could experience what we used to call "Indian Summer" where the afternoon temperatures get quite balmy---in the high 50s or low 60s It is difficult to predict SJ and Halifax weather at any time of the year because it is always so variable. There----I have thoroughly confused you!!!! MARAPRINCE
