madelinerose Posted August 17, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2004 Has anyone stayed in #7650 on the Grandeur? I'm dying to get some opinions/comments about staying in the aft staterooms. Why does everyone seem to love them? Is the corner a good choice? Any pics of 7650 out there? Is it better having only 1 "neighbor"? Will deck 8 afts be able to look directly down on deck 7 afts' balcony? Are the afts really that special? Thanks for your help!
Doc'sWife Posted August 18, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 18, 2004 We had that cabin this past February. It was awesome ! Not only do you have only one neighbor, but your balcony allows you to see the back and side of the ship. The suite above this cabin (on deck 8) is even more massive. There was no one staying in that suite when we were there, so we asked the steward if we could tour it -- wow !!! Anyway, if they get to the end of their balcony, and you get to the end of yours, yes - you can see each other. Otherwise it is a very private balcony. We had 4 people in this cabin. 3 adults, 1 child. My mom and son slept on the pull out sofa and had no complaints. The cabin has a full walk-in closet which became a dressing room when one would get out of the shower. It has a bathtub in the bathroom and several shelves for storing your toiletries. We loved the cabin so much, that we booked the opposite end (7150) for our upcoming Feb. 2005 cruise. Figured we would see what the "other side" looked like. The balcony held 2 full lounge chairs, 4 regular chaise chairs, and three small tables. There was still plenty of room to walk around out there. The cabin itself is unique because it is located at the end of the hall and then a direct left down another hall. It is the only cabin in that hallway. If you stand at the elevator entrance and look down the hallway (long row of cabin doors) you can't see your cabin door because it is down a small hallway all of its own. The cabin is directly over the South Pacific Lounge. They quit playing music around midnight, but we never had a problem with the noise. If you went out on your balcony at night, you could hear a "beat", but nothing to ruin our sleep or relaxation. Have a wonderful cruise - you are going to love your cabin and the ship !
