Melissa_A Posted August 17, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2004 We want to be in the right place when viewing Hubbard, so where should we be...it looks like deck 12 or deck 13 would be good choices...but want to hear from people who have been there. fajitapita Posted August 18, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 18, 2004 We were on deck 13 (on the Serenade) which was great. If it's not too windy and cold, deck 5 (very front of the ship- helipad) would also be pretty nice, too, to get shots of the glacier as you're approaching it. If you're on deck 12, stand by the railing overlooking the pool, and take a picture across the deck with the people standing at the railing and the glacier in the background (gives a good perspective of the size of the glacier). The Viking Crown Lounge makes a stunning image against this beautiful scenery, too. Enjoy your cruise! We had a great time on the Serenade 8/1-8! bettyvon Posted August 20, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 20, 2004 We were also on the radiance last month. We went back and forth from our balcony to deck 13. Just above the pool where the "bump" is, you can have an unobstructed view, and the railing is lower there than towards the front. The front of deck 13 gets very crowded. I also saw people out on the helipad on deck 6. Hopefully the captain will get nice and close, and you will have an awesome show of calvings!
