Is there a way to find out the names of the Captain, etc. of certain ships?

If you write to the cruise line they should be able to help you with this. There are multiple captains assigned to each cruise ship.

You can also check the board for that particular line and ask. Someone certainly has recently come off that ship and will answer. If that doesn't work, go to a roll call for that ship that's recently over and ask.

Just call the cruise line. I was given names of the officers, the cruise director, even the ship's doctor on request. (Other cruiselines besides the one I called might be more restrictive but you can try.)
