Pre Cruise to Hawaii

We will be staying in San Diago from the 25th Sept., until we depart on the Summit to Hawaii on 28th September. Can anyone suggest a decent hotel which is central to the places we want to visit i.e., Sea World, San Diago Zoo and of course the shops. Having never been to that part of the States before we have been hopelessly searching the internet. Your help would be appreciated.
