Does anyone know the crew member resposible for the "hotel" as they call it, or the cabins? It's one of the officers, but I dont know which one.

This would be the Hotel Manager.

Yes, the person is known as either the Hotel Director or Hotel Manager depending on the title sued by the cruise line. They are basically responsible for all aspect of the ship except for the naviigation of the ship which of course the Captain is responsible for.

 

The Hotel Director is responsible for areas such as the Pursers Desk, The Restaurants, The Bars and Lounges, The staterooms, The Entertainment, The Sports areas, The Shore Excursions, The Kitchen, The Laundry Area, etc.

 

A very large and important responsibility.
