fsdj1097 Posted July 13, 2007 #26 Share Posted July 13, 2007 Does anyone know which one they offer in Ketchikan? The ZipRider sounds a bit less scary. While on this course, you are wearing a harness. It is not scary, and you are very secure. You can control your speed and keep yourself heading straight after a orientation session with the crew that walk you through every step. From putting on the harness, through every platform and suspension bridge, your crew is with you. If you take the link from my signature and view the Alaska 2006 photos, you will see our group on this excursion. Loads of fun!!
Rare roseoftx Posted July 14, 2007 #27 Share Posted July 14, 2007 Does anyone know which one they offer in Ketchikan? The ZipRider sounds a bit less scary. There are actually 2 offered in Ketchikan. One is a listed as more of an rope course. Most of the stuff is fairly low (less than 25 feet off the ground). This companies website is http://www.southeastexposure.com/rainforest-ropes-and-zip-challenge.html. This reviewer has some pictures of it, and gives you a good idea of what you would do. http://www.gadling.com/2007/06/04/alaska-without-the-cruise-ship-part-4-rope-courses-and-zip-line/ The other is more of an adventure course, it is offered in both Juneau and Ketchikan. According to the zip line company, the Ketchikan one is slightly higher and a bit more strenuous than Juneau. Their website is http://www.alaskacanopyadventures.com/. The link below, by the same person as the one above shows what the Juneau one looks like. http://www.gadling.com/2007/06/04/alaska-without-the-cruise-ship-part-4-rope-courses-and-zip-line/
arrow3 Posted July 14, 2007 #28 Share Posted July 14, 2007 Not sure about Juneau but I know Alaska Canopy Adventures has a ZipLine course with just ZipLines and suspension bridges. Those pictures in the last post show the challenge course which is something different.

Those pictures in the last post show the challenge course which is something different. You're right, I pasted the same link twice (so both of the links above are for the ropes and zip site in Ketchikan). This is the correct one for the Juneau zip lines http://www.gadling.com/2007/06/09/alaska-without-the-cruise-ship-part-9-adventuring-in-the-wilds/ Thanks for catching this
