Rowan555 Posted July 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2007 I haven't been around in a while, as it's far too depressing to be here when a cruise isn't imminent! I just got a call from my favorite Carnival PVP in the world to alert me that final payment was due on our Fantasy cruise - I can't believe it's right around the corner. He also said bookings out of New Orleans have increased drastically, and that prices had gone WAY up (about 40% increase from when we booked, I believe). Good good good news. We're also trying the NCL Spirit in December, as I NEED a 7 day cruise and I'm oh so tired of the 5 day Fantasy itinerary. Looking forward to it, but also scared to try another cruise line when Carnival's been so good to us for so many cruises. If only they had sent us the Triumph.... Well, I just wanted to pop in and say hi - I'll be lurking and checking out what new things there might be to do as I repeat this cruise yet again. If anyone's been on the Fantasy recently, please post about how your trip went. We enjoyed both cruises last year, and I'm looking forward to "coming home" to Carnival for another cruise. bonniemari Posted July 11, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 11, 2007 Hi Rowan good to see you back. We spoke back in April when I was going on my girls only cruise. I'm happy to report that we did spend the night before in NOLA and had dinner at Acme Oyster House and it was excellent. Got up the next morning and went to Cafe DuMonde for beignets and coffee and it was great also. The 5 Day we took on the Fantasy was a blast. Food and service were outstanding as usual. I am booked to go back on the Fantasy NYE but may have to switch to Holiday cause of family being here for Christmas holidays.
Rowan555 Posted July 11, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted July 11, 2007 I'm glad you had a good time in NOLA. I must admit Acme is my least favorite restaurant in the Quarter, but I hope you enjoyed it anyway :) Next time you're in town, you must eat at Gumbo Shop. Get the blackened fish nuggets and the combination plate. You won't be sorry!
