vtalum05 Posted July 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2007 We are cruising for the first time ever on Carnival Triumph Eastern Caribbean Cruise and will be stopping at Half Moon Cay. I have heard that the cruise ships sometimes do not stop here do to choppy seas and high winds? How often does this happen? Also, at HMC has anyone done the Eco Lagoon Tour or the Stingray Encounter? Are there jet skis to rent at HMC? We are just looking for some different things to do along with just spending the day at the beach. Any help at all would be much appreciated since we have never done anything like this before.
bruce-r Posted July 13, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2007 We are cruising for the first time ever on Carnival Triumph Eastern Caribbean Cruise and will be stopping at Half Moon Cay. I have heard that the cruise ships sometimes do not stop here do to choppy seas and high winds? Yep, that is true. How often does this happen? It depends on the time of year and the current weather conditions the day you are there. Perhaps it is a bit more likely to happen in the winter. Since there is nothing you can do about it, just accept that it might happen. Also, at HMC has anyone done the Eco Lagoon Tour or the Stingray Encounter? Are there jet skis to rent at HMC? Haven't done any tours there. There are jets skis there, but not for rent. They are only available by going on an excursion. The excursion takes place on the other side of the island from where the beautiful is located. We are just looking for some different things to do along with just spending the day at the beach. Any help at all would be much appreciated since we have never done anything like this before. Our family very much enjoyed having a Cabana for the day. If that interests you, you will have to reserve one once you are on the ship and it should be the very first thing you do once you board. cruiseapril Posted July 20, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 20, 2007 We were at Half Moon Cay in April and did the Eco-Lagoon Tour. About a dozen people went out in the boat to see sea creatures from the glass bottom. Later, we went out on the ocean a ways to a reef.
