emcamm Posted July 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2007 I'm really wanting to book a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise starting Sept. 9th. It'll be our honeymoon and because I'm pregnant I thought a cruise would be a good choice. I know Carnival's pregnancy policy is 26 weeks which would be Sept. 18th for me. We are getting married on Sept. 1st so our options are limited. I've heard that hurricane season starts in September so am I pushing my luck with this cruise or do you think the weather should be still nice? Thanks! Rare Keith1010 Posted July 14, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 14, 2007 Weather will still be nice and warm. You can try to look up historical weather averages at http://www.wunderground.com Keith
Trainman-2 Posted July 14, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 14, 2007 If you are worried about hurricanes, then you should not go on a cruise. Hurricanes come and go and it is really sort of the luck of the draw. Book the cruise you want to and be sure to get cruise insurance. If, by chance, your cruise does have to dodge a hurricane, RCI will take car of you.

Steamboatin Posted July 19, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 19, 2007 Hurricane season is officially from June 1 to November 30 in the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea and North Atlantic water areas.
COTMVal Posted July 24, 2007 #6 Share Posted July 24, 2007 You should check with the cruise line regarding their policy if a hurricane occurs during your scheduled cruise. I know with Royal Caribbean they will change the itenerary/ports of call if a hurricane is predicted to hit one of the ports they are scheduled to dock at. Most cruise lines don't cancel the cruises, they sail around the hurricane and/or change their itineraries. So you still get to port at places, but maybe not the one you were scheduled to.:)
