Platinum!

Hi,

I noticed that Cotton (in another post) is Platinum!

I reached a million miles with Delta which had some perks. Not like one might think however. More memories about many, many long delays in Atlanta, security tightening, tight seating, etc.

Do cruise lines have frequent cruising status levels with perks. If so can anyone tell me about it or direct me to a link that does?

Thanks

Once you hit 10 cruises you do get benefits I am sure it is on the Carnival site.. if not do a search here and you will find multiple threads:)

Longtrip-

Some of the benefits of being platinum include priority boarding, customized stationery, and my favorite, free laundry service! There are many other perks, but these are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

I have 5 more cruises to go....

Can anyone answer this for me? Do you become Platinum on your 10th cruise or do you have to complete the 10th before you get to receive benefits on your 11th cruise? Thanks!

You become Platinum on your tenth cruise. My favorite perk is the free laundry service too however I do enjoy bypassing the line to board the ship!:)

What great service! I booked directly with Carnival. Got a person named Gerry Solorzano. While I was trying to find info on the Carnival site just now, he happen to call. He said he was off today but came in after a ball game to check his messages. I asked him about the platinum benefits. He actually called because I had a question about the famous room 2465 which is not 1a on the Splendor, but is on the Conquest.

This guy is really a great, helpful person. He certainly is always willing to help:) .

Sorry...expect your post to go "poof", even though you meant to help.

According to Cruise Critic guidelines we're not allowed to give out names of agents...Carnival or otherwise, good service or bad.

We were on the Holiday last week, our tenth cruise and it was awesome. As soon as you walk in they check your card and you immediately become a VIP. Mr. Richardson, please come with me, you are escorted into a private office, where a lady completes your paperwork, while there are 200-300 people waiting in the line we used to wait in. Then she escorted us to have our boarding picture taken, then to a private waiting room for about 5 minutes before we are allowed to board. As soon as the crew members see your platinum card, every encounter is followed with" Is there anything else we can do for you"? Each night you recieve something in your cabin, Personalized stationary, petit fours, snacks, a Carnival bag and other items. You get free laundry service, free entry in the slots or black jack tournament. In short it was wonderful. Been on 37 cruises and this was our most memorable.

It is nice, isn't it??? I love the free wash and fold!!!

Could I pull up a soapbox for a minute and remind everyone I am still campaigning for a Black (Elite) card for all Carnival cruises with 25 cruises. One of the additional perks we would LOVE to see is the perks reciprocated on sister cruise lines.

For example, being able to get VIP Check In on Princess the very first time we sail her. You get the idea.

Turn in those comment cards with "ADD an Elite card level"!!

Just curious how long The Platinum perks have been in effect?

Thanks!

A~

Since January 2006. They "tried" to start with a few test runs...but we cruisers were just to smart and found out about it. So it really got pushed into service sooner than they expected.

Actually, when we sailed on the Spirit in July 2005...we were issued Platinum cards for the first time. At that time, there were no official "perks" connected to it yet. We got some treats one night on formal night and a few other things that we were not expecting...but nothing was "offical" yet.

Platinum has been in existence since 2005. Seems like we just missed the beginning of it when we were on our 11th cruise...although we had a gold card for that one I was disappointed it wasn't Platinum. (But at least I do have a gold card souvenier!) It wasn't a mater of a month before we started hearing about people who had actually received some or all of the benefits of Platinum. It's been a nice addition. Each port and ship are a bit different. Tampa had our luggage separated from the rest...that ws nice. Here's the list:

Platinum (starting on your 10th cruise):

1. VIP Check In (used to be called the Skippers Club).

2, Priority tendering (just show them your platinum card. ……..no need for tender tickets.

3. Free wash and fold laundry service

4. Personalized stationary.

5. Canapés and Petit fours on formal nights.

6. Free $20 entry fee into the slots or blackjack tournament.

7. Priority debarkation (complete with a room to wait in with coffee and Danish).

8. Free Tote Bag

Thanks so much for trying to get Carnival to start the Elite card level. I wrote a letter that included the Elite card and wrote it on my comment card on each recent cruise and will continue.

VIP embarkation and debarkation.

Best thing since I started cruising!

I like that perk too. I also heard about if your platinum you don't need a tender ticket? I don't know if thats true, I have never had to get a tender ticket yet.

I loved the free wash and fold!! I could have done without the personalized stationery. The tote bag is very nice too. I used the VIP purser's once and it was great to get served so quickly.

True, but it's been almost 10 years since I've had to get on one of those bloody things.
