Cruises from NJ/NY during Winter

Has anyone sailed from NY/NJ to the Caribbean during the winter months? I am wondering how many days it would be before you would start feeling some warmth and be able to use the outside areas. Thanks for your help.

The first day you can use the pools in most cases. Been that way for the past few years. If it's COLD (below freezing) when you leave usually by dinner time on the FIRST day at sea it starts getting nice.

Weather on the other hand, can be all over the place!

It can be very nice:

Or not so nice:

(Note the lack of people outside! Tornado warnings at sea are NOT to be taken lightly!)

No tornado found but it did get ugly!

Wind makes waves which can be fun for some and not for others:

With weather there's (usually) a happy ending! The red sky:

And of course the next day the sunrise was just beautiful as ever:

That's what cruising is all about.
