Where is The Rancho Grande??

On the Carnival website for excursions it shows some shore excursions going to Rancho Grande in Progresso.

Where is this place?

What is it like?

Is is a pretty good excursion???

Any reviews???

Anybody know anything about this Rancho Grande? I can't believe no one has responded to this query...all the major cruise lines seem to have multiple excursions to this place: horseback riding, ATV, dune buggy. Surely SOMEBODY has been there?

I am thinking about booking Carnival's ATV excursion at Rio Grande? Anyone have any opinions?

If so, please let me know, we sail Aug. 2nd, but want to book now - or should we wait, book through Carnival or once there, etc.?

After two port calls and three 2 wk vacations to Merida and the Yucatan, I've never heard of it. For more information on Progreso and Merida checkout http://www.yucatantoday.com. Lots of good information. You need to scroll down the front page for some unknown reason.

When I was planning my excursions I inquired about the same info and no one came to my aid! I'm here for you!

 

I posted a review when we came back from our cruise in a thread titled ATV Adventure @ Rancho Grande, or something to that effect. I replied to it before this thread so it should be somewhere on the first page.

 

Hope you decide to do it, we had tons of fun and if we go back to progresso, I'd probably do it again!

I have done several land vacations in the area and have never heard of it. I called my friends that have lived in Progresso for 20 years and they have never heard of it. The thinking is that it is not a place only the name of a tour company.
