Dress for Dining

Recommended Posts

We are on the AOS 8/12-19....QUESTIONS...we have been a few cruises, but on the Southern C cruise, is the dress a little more relaxed? Could a man wear dress shorts (Navy Linen) and a collared shirt to dinner in the dining room? :D

Shorts are NOT allowed at dinner on any night. And the dress code is the same. Our southern Caribbean if anything we found people dressed up more. Lots of sparkles and spangles on the women.

I have not seen any adults in shorts. I have seen many Teens in khaki shorts with a golf shirt, and not turned away. On the first night, Im sure you could wear shorts and not have anything said to you.

From the RCCL Website:

Bare feet or bathing suits are not allowed at any time in the dining room and shorts are not permitted at dinner. Each ship also offers a variety of casual dining options, for example, the Windjammer Café.

Shorter cruises tend to be a bit less formal than the longer ones. That doesn't mean shorts are in order--it means more suits and less tuxes! We've found that even on casual nights, the women will dress up more than the men! The only shorts you will see at dinner are on children who aren't yet walking!!!!
