had a great time.

did have a meet and mingle. they served canapies and non alcoholic drinks. the fruit punch is great. don't know if anyone had alcoholic drinks.

they gave us each a lanyard with a note pad, pen, and place to put our seapass cards. very handy. and a m&m magnet. the m&m was the second day at 12:15. great timing to meet people.

the weather was cloudy, cloudy, sun, rain, cloudy, sun, rain.

did a flightsee in juneau, very impressive. also rented a car from rent a wreck. no problem there. and went to the hatchery. saw lots of fish and watched the locals fishing from a dock. did some quick shopping downtown. the ship was docked about .8 miles from downtown, took the $2 shuttle bus. but the driver did not collect money. maybe it was only $2 to go to town not to go back?

took the train trip in skagway with chilkoot charters. ugh. rain. pouring rain. did not get very much for pictures. most of us slept on the bus ride back after lunch. did the required sovounier shopping before returning to the ship. the ship was about 4 blocks from downtown. walked back.

tracy arm fjord was amazing. got tons of pictures. saw blue ice. seals. whales (later in the day). porpoises. waterfalls. glaciers. liked watching from deck 5. no crowds. closer to the water.

prince rupert was very relaxing. has a tourist area, cow bay, about 2 blocks. and a down town area, about 6 blocks the other way . heard lots of disappointed people but i loved it. NO DIAMOND INTERNATIONAL! walked down past the cowbay shopping area and watched and photographed eagles just above the marina. people watched at the marina. checked out the tourist shops. looked for the craving shed. walked the map 2x looking for it but never found it. found a wonderful artist coop on the waterfront. walked up to safeway and grabbed a sandwich. checked out the museum gift shop. do your research here as the ship gives you nothing on it. others in our party tried the jetboats and were disappointed. also whale watchers and bear watchers were disappointed. prince rupert does have a tourist brouchure available from their visitors center, and they sent me a letter good for a free hat pin. they get 2 cruise ships a week is what one of the locals told us.

tried bingo. saw some of the shows. the commedians were entertaining. the singers and dancers ok. thought the piano singer at the bar was just as good. checked out the relaxation room in the aft. missed most of the classes. my father said the alaska history speaker was dry, and he loves history. skipped the shopping seminars. ate every 1/2 hour. lol. tried the casino. some in our group were doing real well at the 3 card poker. i did the slots and lost. watched the marriage show, very entertaining. watched the quest, started slow but got exciting, regretted not participating. got a pastry from the coffee shop everyday. there is a sign that says free pastry with coffee purchase, but only one worker told me that and she gave me one anyway. did door signs for the group. did not see anyothers.

coming off the ship seemed slow. don't rush to your holdinng area. customs did not have an xray machine. just took the form and did not ask any questions. should have bought those cuban cigars. lol. pulled the luggage up the elevator and accross the skybridge, and down an elevator. not too hard. we each had 2 suitcases on wheels. lots faster than the shuttle.

We liked Prince Rupert as well. The Butze Rapids hike was nice and we also went to the Museum of Northern BC. I know many people have expressed their displeasure with Prince Rupert, but sometimes I like going to a port where you are the only boat there. There is not a big shopping area and I think that is why some say it is boring. We saw 7 eagles at the same time in the trees near the downtown. Vision's crew was great and we enjoyed our trip in June.
