DREAMSAFLOAT Posted July 25, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 25, 2007 Any advice or experience for those who want to grab a taxi and see Antigua on our own and then hit the beach? Where is the best place to grab a taxi at the pier in town etc. & what should I expect to pay.
Ripley Posted July 27, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 27, 2007 Consider using Gordon from Antigua Beach Runner. He'll meet you at the pier, he's knowlegable and personable, and he knows all the best beaches. I think the charge was $30-35 pp and he'll stay with you all day. caribbean dreams Posted September 4, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 4, 2007 When you walk off the ship in Antigua, there will be drivers waiting to take you where ever you want to go. We grabbed the first guy, asked what he drove and if it had air, turned out to be a very nice mini van thingy, he took us on an Island tour, let us spend a few hours snorkeling at Long Bay (it gets my vote for the most beautiful water in the Caribbean) he also took us to the Devils Bridge, this is a "do not miss" item of Antigua, we were back in time to go back to the ship & change, then return to town for a little shopping. He charged us $16 pp.
grmpe Posted October 1, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 1, 2007 Be very sure of the price of the taxi DRIVER before you leave the pier. 12 of us went, right off the pier and we were all told $8 round trip, when we got back to the pier, the price turned out to be $8 one way.
