smtcan Posted July 27, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 27, 2007 We are considering the ten day Galapagos trip, and would like advice on these months. We are not keen to travel in our Summer and would like to steer clear of very busy times. What are the weather and ocean conditions like then? Rates seem to be lower and we wonder iif that is because of rough seas or excessive heat. Thanks Sheila
Seas the Day Posted August 6, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2007 we went last December 8 - and the weather was perfect. Garua on only one day, on Santa Cruz, for an hour, otherwise no rain. It wasn't too hot when walking the trails on other islands (no trees, no shade.) Every animal was there. I think it was the perfect time. I was told November, April/May, and any change of season, is best for the Galapagos.
smtcan Posted August 6, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted August 6, 2007 Thanks for the response. We are still considering the trip - it sems like the experience of a life time, if rather expensive when air fare is factored in, but we are celebrating our 40th anniversary next year, so will probably go for it.
