Platinum discount

We are platinum. If I book and pay for a cruise for my parents, can i get a cabin discount. Please don't flame me. I know my parents will not be platinum, I'm not looking for coupon books or other on board perks that are not due them. I just want to know if I the cabin discount applies to the person who books and pays, or the person who is actually in the cabin. I tried a search, but couldn't word it properly to bring up any threads. I'm sure I'm not the only one to ask this.

You have to be one of the persons occupying the cabin to get the discount. If you and your wife are going, you can book a cabin with a non platnuim member and then your wife book a cabin with another non platnuim member and have the discount for both cabins.
