Excursion to Trunk Bay timing ????

If we take the Carnival tour to Trunk Bay which is 4 hours....and it sounds like the ferry back and forth and trip to Trunk runs about 60 plus minutes...so if that is round trip almost 2 hours...then the 4 hour tour is not much beach time. Has anyone else done this tour and what did you think? Would also like to spend a little time at Cruz Bay for some different shopping than is in St. Thomas....so info would be appreciated......thank you.
