For all of you questioning ship shore excursions? or private tours?

It seems that everyone questions whether to book their excursions through their ship or go with a private tour on their own. I just wanted to post that we decided to book with Gordon from Antigua Beach Runner and we were more than happy! Gordon sent explicit instructions on when and where he would meet us. His van was immaculate and he kept it very cool for the duration of our tour. He had a wealth of knowledge of the island and shared with us constantly and answered all questions we asked him. He tailored our tour to meet our desires and gave us as much time as we wanted at each of our stops. He took photos of our family throughout the whole day, had a cooler full of drinks for us and purchased local fruits for us to snack on, as well. It was our best tour throughout the cruise and we will use him again if we return to Antigua.

We booked a private excursion with Gordon the first week of July when we were in Antigua. We were sailing on AOS. He is a very fine gentleman who loves his island. He followed the itineray that we had mapped out beforehand. We were always ahead of the ships excursions. He also provided water, sodas, gatorade, and fresh local fruits. You will love this tour.

According to his site he charges by the hour, not by the tour. Is that correct? $35 an hour for a 5 to 6 hour tour gets a little pricey. Is that per person, or ??
