dontpanik Posted August 9, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2007 On my previous cruises, I have brought along some potpourri sachets for the room to make it smell real nice and mask any odors (if any) from other rooms. This time, I saw a few car freshners and car gels in the Yankee Candle catalog that look great. Anyone else try this? How long does the scent last? CHIPMUNKSMOM Posted August 11, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 11, 2007 That sounds like a good idea.:p I like the smell of candles in the house and of course you can't bring them on board to light anyway.I think I will look into the Yankee candle line, they are nice and the scent stays for at least the week of the cruise.I have never had oders linger in the rooms but a nice smell would be ... nice
dmndlil Posted August 12, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 12, 2007 We usually go to Yankee Candle and by "CAR JARS" These are hanging type airfresheners (in the shape of a jar) that you would hang in your car. Works well
dontpanik Posted September 14, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted September 14, 2007 Just FYI, Yankee Candle was having a sale (hhmmm..sounds like the beginning of a limerick) on their plug in oils and I got 4 of them. Wow. You only need one for the whole house. They are wonderful and my whole house currently smells of buttercream. On the downside, I don't think that for my little stateroom on the Sovereign of the Seas these will be a good idea. My eyes would probably start to burn. So car jars it is. I'm thinking pumpkin pie spice or Christmas Wreath depending on my mood at the time :D
winemistress45 Posted September 19, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 19, 2007 I pack linen spray and since most staterooms are fairly small -- this makes the entire room smell fresh!
CRUISIN'w/friends Posted September 19, 2007 #6 Share Posted September 19, 2007 I bring along the Glade plug-in with the nite light, that way I take care of two things.:)
dontpanik Posted January 19, 2009 Author #7 Share Posted January 19, 2009 I actually ended up using the plug in and it was perfect. The plug in has the option of rotating the plug so the sideways plugs weren't a problem.
