GTC and other river cruises - smoking?

What has been the experience on GCT and other river cruises with smoking? Several smokers? A couple of smokers? No smokers?

Just 2 or 3 smokers, and they had to smoke up on outside deck.

That was about my experience too. Just a few and they went up top to do it. Really noticed it too on the few times we had to pass thru other boats to get to shore. They really smelled heavily of smoke.

We just returned from the GCT Eastern Europe to the Black Sea cruise. The MS River Adagio has an enclosed smoking lounge , believe it or not. We saw only staff members smoking in it, maybe a passenger once in a while. There were a few smokers on the tours who lit up when we got off the buses.
