Goatherder61 Posted August 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2007 I have heard that the Taxi Scramble can be wild and woolly at the terminal. We were going to just pre-book a Limo. So let's say we are paranoid and don't have a lot of time to spare and we WANT a limo or private transfer, do you have a recommendation or advice on setting it up assuming we don't know our disembarkation schedule. I'm a rookie at this. Humor me. TIA
CruisnLion Posted August 12, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 12, 2007 Don't have any advice, but was looking for some myself on the same topic. Would it be preferable to wait and use a taxi to transfer back to the airport or prebook the transfer with princess? We have a 10:45 flight. Thanks! coiran Posted August 13, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 13, 2007 Your best bet is to get a porter to pack your luggage on a cart and ask him to get you a taxi - and give him $10 - you will be first in line for a taxi. Ron
prarie cruiser Posted August 13, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 13, 2007 I agree with previous poster, I always get a porter and tip very nicely. He helps me locate my luggage, gets me through the line quicker (porters have special lines) and finds me a taxi. I have had nothing but good success doing this. Tipping is the key at the terminal. Bequia Posted August 13, 2007 #5 Share Posted August 13, 2007 A limo for the 2.5 mile trek to the airport isn't very cost effective. Tipping a porter to hail a cab for the 5 minute ride would be a lot cheaper then a limo. ;)
canadiangirltoo Posted August 13, 2007 #6 Share Posted August 13, 2007 I agree with a limo not being very cost effective. When we disembarked from the Caribbean Princess last fall, there was a long line of taxis waiting and we had absolutely no problem being on time for our late-morning flight (I think around 11 a.m.) back home. The 5-10 minute trip to the airport cost us $12.00.
Cruisetrio Posted August 13, 2007 #7 Share Posted August 13, 2007 The airport is a stones throw from the port.....as a matter of fact, we could clearly see our ship, CCL Liberty, from the Delta terminal as we were waiting to catch our flight home.
