Cabin A326 on Oceana

Iceland

Recommended Posts

Hi all, we are booked on Oceana on 15 Sept in Cabin A326. We have been on Oceana before and our cabin was midships and on Sea Princess where we had an aft cabin. I would imagine that we will feel more movement in A326 as it is forward of the ship. Has anyone had experience of a cabin in this area? I was wondering what it will be like in this position should we experience rough seas, particularly as we are going through Bay of Biscay to the Canaries. We have been on similar cruises in the past and have only experienced rough seas once and that was on a smaller ship, so fingers crossed! Would appreciate any comments. Thanks.

We haven't been that far forward on a Sun class vessel, but on Golden Princess, forward in C-250 in 8-02, we were very aware of bow slap in heavy pitching seas, in the Atlantic West of the Azores.

The slap was jarring, and we had bow spray raining down on our balcony, quite heavily at times. We could hear the elevator cars banging about in their shafts, and several windows along Prom Deck shattered while the ship was flexing and fighting for headway. There was also significant glass breakage in the shops and bars.

You never know what sea state you might encounter - we much prefer midships, but can't always get that.

Hi,

Last year we were in cabins L312 & L316 on Oceana.

They are one deck up from your cabin and are slightly further forward than yours - in the same position as the disabled cabin on A deck - We found the cabins to be fine and didn't feel too much movement even through the Bay of Biscay.

Hope you enjoy your cabin and your cruise.
